Mrs. Pamela Elder, S.C.

With over thirty two (32) years experience as an Attorney-at-Law, Mrs. Pamela Elder, S.C. is the head of Chambers at Guerra, Elder and Associates.

Mrs. Elder S.C. is an alumnus of the University of the West Indies and the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School. She was called to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago on 30th October, 1987.

Throughout her career Mrs. Elder has distinguished herself as an exceptional Attorney. She is renowned for her meticulous research, clinical and devastating cross examination, passionate, captivating and flawless jury addresses, thorough analysis, thought provoking legal submissions and above all else, her honesty and integrity.

During the period 1st January, 2003 to July, 2003, Mrs. Elder served as a temporary judge of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago and on 28th November, 2003, in recognition of her significant contributions to the Criminal Bar, she was appointed Senior Counsel.

In 2010, Mrs. Elder was elected as President of the Trinidad and Tobago Criminal Bar Association (CBA) and under her stewardship, the CBA played an integral role in advancing criminal law in this jurisdiction.

Dedicated to developing the Criminal Law and its attendant statutory framework, Mrs. Elder has advised the Office of The Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago in relation to countless proposed and existing legislation. In 2014 she was retained to prepare a policy paper on plea bargaining and to provide consultation in drafting the plea bargaining legislation.

As an exemplary advocate, Mrs. Elder has been involved in a significant number of extraditions, preliminary inquiries, criminal trials, appeals, judicial review applications, constitutional motions, habeas corpus applications and related legal proceedings. In 2014 she was appointed as Lead Counsel to the Commission of Enquiry into the Las Alturas Housing Development.
